Description | The EFB Administrator is responsible to the Chief Pilot via the Manager Flight Operations Support for the maintenance of the EFB system in use on our aeroplanes. He will manage the EFB program becoming the ‘champion’ of the project, ensuring timely delivery of the end product to all users. Specifically he is responsible for: • Maintaining a good working knowledge of the EFB system’s hardware, operating system and installed software applications • Ensuring that the hardware and software applications are configured in accordance with applicable requirements and that their output complies with regulations • Ensuring that no unauthorised software is installed on any of our EFB system • Ensuring that only a valid version of any software application and current data packages are installed on the EFB system • Ensuring that any non-EFB software application installed on the EFB system does not interfere with any application that is required to meet regulatory requirements or our operating policies • The development, production and amendment of the EFB Policy and Procedures Manual in conjunction with all stakeholders • Conducting flight crew training on the EFB system and its use • Supervising and assisting the activities of the Electronic Document Library (EDL) Administrator • Performing a Quality Control function by the routine monitoring of the EFB system and its administration • Liaising with Subject Matter Experts of all the applications and datasets to ensure that EFB is always serviced with updated and accurate standards and datasets. Manage the update cycles and ensure that the updates are always completed on or before the cut-over date • Liaise with vendors to ensure any defective items are serviced and returned for operations within the SLA interval itself • Perform service reviews with the key users of the device (Chief Pilot) and constantly look for areas of improvement. Identify any new application requirements and run projects to implement the new applications on the EFB device |

QUALIFICATIONS: • University Degree or equivalent in Information Systems or an Engineering discipline. • Industry standard accreditation a distinguishing factor, for example MCSE. EXPERIENCE: • Working knowledge / implementation of MS Office, SQL Server, Exchange Server, TCP / IP networking and Active Directory. • A comprehensive knowledge of Airline Information Systems and Airline Standard Operating Procedures. | |
