Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ø Flight Dispatcher has joint responsibility for the safety and operational control of the flight.
- Ø Ensure the analysis and evaluation of meteorological information to determine potential hazards to safety of flight and to select the most desirable and economic route of flight.
- Ø Ensure the computation of the amount of fuel required for the safe completion of flight according to type of operation, aircraft, distance of flight, maintenance limitations, weather conditions and minimum fuel requirements prescribed by GACA/FAA and company policy.
- Ø Ensure the preparation of flight plans containing information such as maximum allowable takeoff and landing weights, weather reports, field conditions, NOTAMS and many other informational components required for the safe completion of flight.
- Ø Ensure the preparation and signature of the dispatch /flight release flights which is the legal document providing authorization for a flight to depart.
- Ø Ensure the monitoring of weather conditions, aircraft position reports, and aeronautical navigation charts to evaluate the progress of flight.
- Ø Ensure the required landings and over fly permits, in addition to any authorization required is obtained.
- Ø Ensure that the joint responsibility between Flight Dispatcher and Pilot In Command (PIC) are practiced for the safety and operational control of flights under GACA/FAA is met.
- Ø Ensuring that GACA/FAA flights are provided with all required and legal documents and any information related to the particular flight.
- Ø Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager of (FOC).
